"The Black Jew Dialogues" is just the starting point for the discussion of cross-cultural discovery. Our objective is to engage the country in a didactic process of increasing our awareness of the deep and rich diversity of all types which is the cornerstone of the American character. To that end we have developed these additional tools to enhance and deepen this process. Each of these units can be used in addition to, or independent of "The Black Jew Dialogues" performance. We encourage you to explore these tools.
- LECTURE: A one-hour discussion, which covers the issues addressed in The Black Jew Dialogues. (More in depth than post-show discussion.)
- FOCUSED LECTURE with SHOW PIECES: Lecture with pieces of The Black Jew Dialogues (sketches), which support specific themes presented in the show.
Such as:
- STEROTYPING
- HATE
- FAITH
- SELF-INTEREST VS SOCIAL CONSCIENCE
- COMMONALITY & DIFFERENCES
- CULTURAL SENSITIVITY INTERACTIVE (CSI): This workshop consists of discussion, sketches from the show, interactive games, and takeaway material. You will learn more about the members of your community and the basic principles of being culturally sensitive. The workshop is 2 - 4 hours in length and number of participants is limited.
The sketches will act as the catalyst for discussion in a given topic area. Each lecture is designed to be no longer than 90 minutes.
